Come lucid dream with me on Monday
tldr I’m going live Monday the 3rd, 6:00pm ET to stream creation of my next VN Helicon, generating art and scoping out our character’s visit to an uplifted whale colony in the Pacific ocean. Come!

Welp, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here, gesturing at two wrinkly bedsheets in a wasp-infested barn on the outskirts of Darlington.
Well, I was at Vibe Camp, talking about easy/psychedelic it is to dream up choose-your-own-adventure stories with AI tools. And I haven’t got my fill yet, because we’re going to do it some more!
The still onscreen was from Merge Lane, my first experiment with these things. Here in this first scene, an N64-rendered John Lilly-like scientist is orienting you to the personality test that will follow.

This time, I’d like to share some work from my forthcoming VN experiment (working title Helicon), and livestream some of the creative process.
This one is a day-in-the-life of an amnesiac in an artificial superintelligence-governed world, with a more photorealistic art style.

Working on the story involves a lot of back-and-forth with coding agents and their image generators, guided by a bible of worldbuilding lore we created together at the outset. I think it’s a good example of the kind of genuine creative work you can do centaur-mode with AI. It’s also really, really fun and I’m excited to share more of these tools and processes with the world when they’re farther along.
Anyway I’m going to livestream working on some scenes from it, in which we visit an uplifted sperm whale civilization in the Pacific ocean on official business as members of the planetary senate.

The uplifted sperm whales have achieved takeoff and semi-uplifted their local octopuses too, who act as their minions. One appears in the tank to this man’s right, to serve as your go-between when the pod submerses and travels to their city.
Maybe! Maybe not! I’m still inventing the story, so we’ll see.
Come check it out!
